The Story Of Dennis Rodman – Or A Part Of It – incomplete

This story was originally on here in June, 2018. I haven’t followed Dennis R. closely, but have been fascinated by his antics throughout the years. Somewhere between being a very good basketball player, to a weirdo, to the guy that went traipsing over to visit Kim Jong-Un in North Korea, his life has been very colorful. I knew he was connected to a once big excavating company headquartered in the DFW area, but had operations in Austin and San Antonio before going bankrupt almost a decade ago. As I was driving along this morning, a Sunday morning, which isn’t my … Continue reading The Story Of Dennis Rodman – Or A Part Of It – incomplete

Grandma (Gma) has been on a quest to make lasting memories

Madeline always told her grandchildren that she would take them on a special trip when they graduate from high school. It was up to each one of them to figure out where they’d go and they could also take a friend. Then she made a photo book chronicling their trip. Tyler, the oldest went into the Marine’s after high school, so his trip was delayed. When he got out of the service, she took him to Cuba. Just the two of them. Holly wanted to see Paris and other parts of France. Her friend Meagan went too. Nathan wanted to … Continue reading Grandma (Gma) has been on a quest to make lasting memories

Pat’s Saddle

I was visiting with Pat Taylor this morning about making the move from Loving, Texas where he has spend the better part of five decades, back to Burnet County. He mentioned all the stuff you can accumulate in that length of time. He was telling about his many saddles that he has acquired over the years. He mentioned of all the saddles he has the Dee Collier Saddle he got back in 1965 was his all time favorite. I told him that I would check around and see what I could find out about Dee Collier Saddle Maker. Sure enough … Continue reading Pat’s Saddle

My Senior Trip To California

It was a trip that I will always remember. While it was a trip that took place during my senior year, it wasn’t “The Senior Trip“. Our Senior Trip wasn’t quite so exciting or far away. It was an all day trip to San Antonio. Since I was working across the street from the school at Luther-McDuff Chevrolet, Buick and Oldsmobile, I was offered a chance to help get some vehicles out to California. I was in a program that allowed me to get out of school at noon in my senior year and work at the dealership. It was … Continue reading My Senior Trip To California

A Trip To Pennsylvania

The week I graduated from high school, May 1970, I was invited to take a trip up to Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania. There was a slight catch to it, the trip wasn’t going to pay much or maybe nothing at all. But all expenses were paid for. There were 5 of us traveling together. Price Allen “Pat” Taylor, a MF school chum – year older than me, Kenny and Vickey Jackson, and a gal by the name of Martha Rucker.Pat and I were making the trip just to help transfer vehicles, but the other 3 were moving there to be employed … Continue reading A Trip To Pennsylvania
