It’s a funny thing about FaceBook and friendships. Let me tell you or remind you how I met Terry Robinson.
Here goes: Terry was living up in the DFW area and was wanting to sell out and move down this way. In March of 2021 he thought something like if I do a search for someone that’s always posting about Bertram and Smithwick then I may find someone that has connections and may know of a place for sale in the area.
Pretty ingenious thinking, right?
When my name popped up he instant messaged me, introducing himself. The only problem was I had just come down with Covid and was laying up in bed and didn’t touch Facebook for about three weeks. I just about the same as died when it came to anything other than sleeping and suffering. I barely even spoke to anyone during that time. My wife had it just about as bad as I did, so we weren’t conversing very much at all. I did get someone to haul me down to Cedar Park to the ER a couple of times when I was sure I was gonna die. But thankfully I didn’t.
I’m glad that when that happened that I was carrying a little extra weight in blubber cells. My body lived off of that. I guess it sustained me because I sure wasn’t eating anything. I must have been sipping a little water but I don’t even remember that.
Sometime after that when I was able to pick up my phone and fiddle with it I found where I had that message from Terry Robinson asking if I knew of any places for sell out this way or over around Smithwick.
I wasn’t a bundle of knowledge at about that time, but I did know of a place down on Cow Creek, so I put him in touch with the fellow.
In the meantime we visited back and forth a few times, and I invited him to join the Angora Chronicles. By the middle of May in 2021 I was finally beginning to feel sociable again, so we made arrangements to meet up at the local cafe when he and his his family came out this way looking at property.
They eventually decided to settle over in the Hutto area rather than out this way. But by the magic of Facebook we have continued to communicate regularly and became friends.
And as they say, the rest was history.
