A Book Dedicated To The Life Of Maxine Gatlin

After my Mother in Law, Maxine Gatlin passed on a few weeks ago, we decided to honor her with her very own book of stories of her life.
The sad fact is she had asked me to help her write and published her stories. It was a project we started back in about 2017 or 2018. She fed me a few stories, but sadly her mental health began to wane and she was unable to put many of her thoughts to paper in a short period of time.

Max wanted that book written so badly but it just didn’t seem possible. However after her passing while her daughters went through her things, more and more of things she had written were found in notebooks.

Then we remembered how she had assembled loose leaf books for each of her kids, tell her stories and a lot about each of their growing up.

We were able to take excerpts from each of those memories along with stories she had written throughout the years and create a book along with pictures we gathered.

Additionally I went through and made screen shots of some of the Facebook post stories she had shared with us on The Angora Chronicles, mostly in the earlier years of the group. Those stories occupy the later part of the book.

The book is available at the most economical rate allowed by Amazon, due to there being several colored pictures at the sum of $12.47.

We were careful to leave the wording as close to the way she wrote it in her own words.

When you pull it up on Amazon you will see the following picture of the book. That was generated as a Kindle ebook, of which I abandoned very quickly as it didn’t capture the essence of what I thought it should.

The actual book is this red and very pink version that’s more of Maxine.

The entire book was done in a matter of a few days and with the talents of my granddaughter Holly to help with editing made it all possible.

Sadly it was our hope for the book to be here where we could pass then out to family members at the Memorial Service but they arrived a couple of days late. If you want a keep-sake of Max feel free to order one from Amazon.

However if the price seems a bit high in these times we find ourselves in, drop me a line and I’ll order some more Author Copies which cost around $7 each and I’ll just give you a copy. How’s that for a deal !!!!

Here is the real deal folks, when the old folks are talking, get it recorded or written down. If you don’t record the history of these people in your life, most likely it will all be lost and that is truly a loss that will never be recovered.
