I’m not professing to be a biblical figure, but always hearing that saying seemed relevant to this odyssey I’ve been on for over four months, while trying to get my sickly truck running.
THE STORY
I hired a young man to make what I thought was probably a simple and straightforward mechanical repair. But it turned out to be anything but.
The last thing I’d ever want to do is harm this young man’s reputation. He seems like a very nice and knowledgeable person. I have told him it’s never my intention to leave a bad review, but it would be impossible for me to leave a glowing review. So I’ll just not do a review. This is the reason I’ve carefully blanked out his name.
Explanation: The Patience of Job is a biblical reference to the extraordinary patience and perseverance demonstrated by Job, a character in the Book of Job in the Hebrew Bible. Job faced numerous trials and suffered great losses, yet he remained patient and faithful to God throughout his ordeal. The phrase “The Patience of Job” is often used to describe someone who remains steadfast and resilient in the face of adversity.
So now take a look at the dates and the time lapses, then the excuses. Bless his heart, but it’s been really hard for me to not flip out over time. Sadly it’s such an involved repair that bringing in another mechanic would be very cumbersome.
With all that being said, I’m more about being in a trap and nothing to do with my patience.
