Driving down the road one morning a few years ago on my way to New Braunfels, I took US 281 and turned east on Texas 46. Not long after turning, I saw a pickup that had pulled over on the side of the road going up a fairly grade. I was just far enough from it that I couldn’t tell exactly what was happening but as I got closer I could see a white wave moving down the highway.
I pulled over to watch the commotion caused by a big plastic trash can of golf balls that had tipped over and dumped the contents out onto the roadway. I’m not sure what it would have felt like driving through a sea of golf balls.
I’m glad I had the presence of mind to completely stop for a few moments but I’m a little ticked off at myself that I didn’t get my camera up sooner.
All I know for sure is my day was going better than the old fellow that’s on the side of the road trying to pick up 100’s or 1000’s of golf balls.
