Ivan Shepperd posted a story a while back about the big rock in his front yard growing up. It was left there after construction in the neighborhood at the request of his mother.

Seeing that rock when I passed there a few minutes ago reminded me of something similar. When the new Marble Falls High School was built in the mid 1980s, we had the contract to run the utility lines up to it that also included building the boulevard from FM 1431 to the school. When we finished building the road there were several massive boulders leftover from that endeavor.
We suggested that we just leave them, that they would make great landscaping features. Those in charge agreed.
All these years later and they are still there, gracing the median up Mustang Drive.
