The Mystery Has Been Solved

A few days ago I was mopping the kitchen floor with one of these Bissell machines that sprays water and cleanser out, has some spinning brushes that scrubs the floor and lastly it sucks the dirty water up in another reservoir.

This was just after we had entertained a big bunch of our grandkids on New Years Eve. So it was really needing a cleaning.

After I did a fairly small area the machine made the sound that it makes when the dirty water reservoir is full and needs emptying.

I thought that strange. I unsnapped the little tank to empty it and it was full of colored gel balls, about 1/4” in diameter. I knew the machine was completely empty and clean when I started. I had not seen any gel balls on the floor, so where did they come from? It didn’t make sense.

I went back at it again and finished my cleaning job. A few more of the balls did appear, but not like before. I racked my brain trying to figure out what was going on.

Yesterday our 4 year old granddaughter, Sarah, was here. She and her grandma wanted me to close my eyes as they brought a surprise for me to see. They had a napkin with these tiny plastic colored beads on it. They were not much bigger than a pin head. In a glass they had some water. When you drop the beads in they magically swell up and turn to a gel like substance. Hence what was in the Bizzell.

Now there is but one mystery. What are the actually for? Doing a little research online I found them. I still don’t know what they are really for. But it appears they are safe for 3 year olds.

The information below says it will keep kids busy for hours. I have news for them – They can keep an old Granddad busy for hours too.
